Concrete.

Concrete.

Studio Elke collaborated with French-Australian Director Nicole Lily Rose on an arresting, conceptual film, showcasing the 2012 jewellery collection, also titled Concrete.

Released last week as part of Sydney’s Vivid Festival, Concrete was conceived by Kramer and director Nicole Rose and shares their joint love of absurdist film. Rose’s feminine aesthetic and knack for capturing motion was the perfect communicative vehicle for Studio Elke's artistic vision, as the female lead summons the mystical powers of the universe to bring her a man, only realising the constraints love places upon his appearance.

The duo was inspired by architect Louis Kahn’s work, the chiselled landscape of the Jorn Utzon-designed Sydney Opera House becoming the backdrop for the film. Ivory blocks of concrete, jutting angles and dark shadows highlight the graphic beauty of the bold jewellery collection.
